E. D. Hill On The View
Appearing on The View this morning E.D. Hill was discussing her decision to have preventative double mastectomy surgery and how she felt afterwards.
The fear of dying from breast cancer more than out-weighted her fear of losing her breast, was the answer E.D. gave when ask if she was worried about how she would see herself after the surgery.
Her husband has been her rock throughout the whole procedure, explained E.D., while waiting to go into surgery she took her husband’s hand and put it on her breast and said this is your last feel. Immediately her husband let her know that he thought she was courageous and she would always be beautiful to him.
After surgery before she could look to see what there was left of her breast she asks her husband to look and tell her what he thought his answer, beautiful, just as I said before.”
The former Fox News conservative journalist and anchor E.D. Hill, decided to have the preventative double mastectomy as a preventive measure to avoid having breast cancer in the future. Her family has a long history of breast cancer, after her sister found that she had breast cancer E.D. chose to have a double mastectomy. Hill said, “I felt if my sister had been brave enough to have the surgery, I would too so that I would not have to worry about breast cancer.”
“I have no regrets and I am relieved to know that I do not have to worry about the breast cancer problem anymore,” said E.D. Hill stated that at some point in the future she new, that her daughter would have to face the same decision for herself.
Aspirin Fighting Against Breast Cancer
A study which included 4,164 nurses found that using regular low dose aspirin could lower their risk of dying from breast cancer. The study using aspirin has been published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.![]()
Women that were breast cancer survivors, who took aspirin after completing their cancer treatments, were half as likely to have their tumors spread throughout their body. There were also fewer deaths caused by the breast cancer and tumors in those women who took aspirin. Women that had not taken aspirin were more likely to find the cancer had spread.
Researchers following the study feel that the aspirin may aid in controlling cancer by fighting inflammation throughout the body.
Research studies from the past have proven that breast cancer cells produce more inflammatory chemicals in a woman’s body, compared to normal noncancerous breast cells.
It is very important to talk to your health care provider before starting any additional treatment, which they have not recommended even something as simple as aspirin. Often cancer patients are told to avoid aspirin, due to the fact aspirin acts as a blood thinner. Women undergoing treatment such as radiation and chemotherapy for breast cancer need to be extra cautious due to side effects.
There are 2 million breast cancer survivors in the United States, which are already taking a daily low-dose aspirin to reduce their risk of heart attack. If you have had breast cancer and are already taking aspirin, you should take comfort in knowing that you may be helping to keep your breast cancer from reoccurring or spreading to other areas of your body.
Breast Cancer and Bone Building Drugs
Exciting news in the fight against (breast cancer), researchers have discovered that bone-building drugs such as Fosamax and Actonel are helping women in their fight against breast cancer.
When the research study began women that had been taking bone-building medication previously were 1/3 less likely to develop breast cancer within the next 7 years. Women not taking the bone- building medications did not fare as well.
Researchers cannot as yet prove that the bisphosphonates drugs can prevent cancer definitively. The hope is that within the next two years research will have a better understanding as to where this cancer research is headed.
When the study began there were over 150,000 women participating in the bone- building drugs effect on the development of breast cancer. Bisphosphonates drugs, mainly Fosamax were taken by 2,216 women after 7 years these women had 31 percent fewer breast cancer occurrences.
There were benefits from the bisphosphonates drugs, even when the researchers took into account differences in the women’s age, smoking, weight, hormone and vitamin D use, and other things that affect bone density and breast cancer risk.
Cancer Hormone Peptides and New Hope
Widely known researcher Dr. David L. Vesely, Tampa University of South Florida has been
recognized for years for his findings in heart research. Doctor Vesely is recognized around the world for his research in which he discovered 3 of 4 human hormone peptides, which are produced by the heart.
While treating a verity of heart conditions successfully, such as congestive heart failure and renal failure Dr. Vesley reasoned that the heart hormone peptides could be just as effective in the fight against cancer.
Using mice and petri dishes to test his theory the doctor was successful in that the peptides caused the cancer cells to literally explode; normal cells were not harmed in any way.
After 30 years of marriage Dr. Vesley lost his wife to breast cancer, leaving him with 5 children. After his wife’s death one of the doctor’s sons encouraged him to expand his heart research into the cancer field as well.
Doctor Vesley is employed by the US government within the Veterans Administration, therefore he cannot benefit from his findings. The patents for his research are owned by the VA, and the University of South Florida.
Exercise causes muscle growth, but a normal heart, the hardest working muscle in the body, retains its size and shape. Vesely deduced that peptides were controlling the growth. Applying that thought to petrie dish cancers 97% of all cancers died with 24 hours. In mice, 80% of the deadliest human cancers die within the prescribed treatment period, while the remaining 20% of tumors shrink 90 – 97% — and are managed as a chronic disease.

Fibrocystic Breast
November 18, 2009 by Jody

Women will in general have some lumps in their breast; the lumps will more than likely be found in the upper outer area of their breast. These lumps are common, but do not increase their risk for breast cancer.
Past studies showed there was a higher risk for breast cancer in women diagnosed with fibrocystic breast, more recent studies have shown that these women are not in a higher risk category.
Fibrocystic breast are usually not found to be malignant, but the lumps may cause you some discomfort.
The cysts or fluid- filled sacs caused by this disease will tend to get larger during the end of your menstrual cycle, due to the fact that your body is retaining more fluid.
Cysts may be so small that you can hardly feel them, while others may be the size of an egg. Larger cysts can be moved around and change their shape. Fibrocystic tumors will have a firm, smooth rubbery feel to them they also have a definite shape and can be moved with little pressure applied to the surface of your skin.
Lumps may be found if a woman experiences any of the following:
- If you have had an injury or some infections in your breast at some point you may also find lumps in your breast.
- Fibroadenomas: Younger women may experience lumps caused by these benign tumors as well.
- Lipoma: lumps caused by fatty tissue.
- Intraductal Papilloma: blocked milk duct.
As yet researchers have not proven what may cause cysts, but it seems as though they appear in younger women when their hormone levels are higher. Generally cysts will disappear after a woman has gone through menopause.
Fibrocystic breast symptoms
- Breast that are sensitive or tender to the touch.
- Painful or non painful lumps in the breast.
- Evidence of discharge from the nipples.
Breast Cancer Fears
There is a lot of talk throughout the media on the subject of breast cancer and how the study by a government-led panel of experts is showing
women in their 40s, do not need a mammogram every year. The study also shows that women in their 50s need a mammogram only every two years. I have always believed that mammogram’s were known as wellness exams to detect early cancer.
When one looks at the cost of a mammogram versus the cost of caring for a patient with breast cancer the numbers should be a no brainer. Please do not be fooled by the media that is looking for ratings and a government that is being bought off by the insurance companies.
If these rules are put into place there will be thousands more women at risk of dying from breast cancer each year. For women with large breast, mastitis, fibrocystic breast and other beast diseases these reports are causing fear around the world.
Self breast exams have been a major asset in saving women form dying of breast cancer for years, now they want us to believe that these exams are no longer needed.
I would like to ask these people just what dollar amount do you put on a human life, these women are wives, mothers and daughters. I am sure that those stating the mammogram and self exam are no longer necessary each year have known someone that has died from this horrible disease.
The American Cancer Society is asking that women let our leaders in Washington know that these rules are not acceptable.
Moreover, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force isn’t nixing mammograms. They acknowledge the test’s early-detection benefits.
